Answer:

Given:-

Find a - b and b - a and write whether they are equal or not. If  a = \frac{4}{3} , b = \frac{2}{5}

To Find:-

a - b and b - a ; Write whether they are equal or not.

Note:-

Two or more than two fractions should have same denominators value , if not then we should take L.C.M to make common denominators value.

For checking equal or not , a - b = b - a, or not.

Solution:-

[ First, a - b ],

 \huge\pink{a} =  \frac{4}{3} ,  \huge\pink{b} =  \frac{2}{3}

Finding~

▪︎ a - b

▪︎ \frac{4}{3} - \frac{2}{5}

According to note first point ( L.C.M ), Let's make denominators equal~

L.C.M = 15

▪︎ \frac{4}{3} × \frac{5}{5} - \frac{2}{5} × \frac{3}{3}

▪︎ \frac{20}{15} - \frac{6}{15}

After doing calculations~

▪︎ \frac{14}{15}

 \huge\red{a - b} =  \frac{14}{15}

_______________________________

[ Now b - a ]

▪︎ b - a

▪︎ \frac{2}{5} - \frac{4}{3}

L.C.M = 15

▪︎ \frac{2}{5} × \frac{3}{3} - \frac{4}{3} × \frac{5}{5}

▪︎ \frac{6}{15} - \frac{20}{15}

After doing calculations~

▪︎ - \ \frac{14}{15}

 \huge\red{b - a} =  - \ \frac{14}{15}

_______________________________

[ Now, equal or not ]

According to note second point~

▪︎ a - b = b - a \ \ ?

▪︎ \frac{14}{15} = - \ \frac{14}{15} \ \ ?

No! Because of symbols

Hence, a - b b - a.

Answer:-

Hence,

  • a - b =  \frac{14}{15}
  • b - a =  - \ \frac{14}{15}
  • a - b b - a
