Therefore length of AC with A (4,8) and C (2,4) =  \sqrt{(2-4)^2 + (4-8)^2}

                                                                              = \sqrt{(-2)^2 + (-4)^2}

                                                                              = \sqrt{(4 + 16)} = √ 20

                                                                                                  = 2√5 units
