a^4 + a^2 +1

= a^4 + 2a^2 - a^2 + 1

= (a^4 + 2a^2 + 1) - a^2

= (a^2 + 1)^2 - a^2

We know that (a^2 - b^2) = (a + b)(a - b)

= (a^2 + 1 + a)(a^2 + 1 - a)
