Given:-

  • Side of cube = 4cm.
  • It is cut into small cubes each of edge 1cm.

To find:-

  • The total surface area of small cubes.
  • The ratio of TSA of larger cube to that of smaller cube.

Solution:-

We know :

Total surface area of cube = 6a²

Where 'a' is side of cube.

Acc to question :-

→ TSA of larger cube = 6(4)²

⇒ 6×16 = 96cm.

→ TSA of smaller cube = 6(1)²

⇒ 6×1 = 6cm.

The ratio of TSA of larger cube to that of smaller cube :

⇒ 96 / 6 = 16 / 1 .

16 : 1.

TSA of small cube is 6cm & The required ratio is 16:1.
