A 40 ohms wire is cut into two equal parts. That two parts are connected in parallel to a 2 volt source find the heat generated in 1 minute in the circuit​

The given wire is of 40 ohms.

Therefore the resistance = 20 µ. Again RP = 1/20 + 1/20 = 2/ 20 = 1/10 µ. Or RP = 10 µ.

Again we know as per Joule’s Law H = I^2 RT = V^2/R^2 X R X T, (as we now V = IR) = V^2/R X T = 2 X 2 X 100 / 10 = 40 Joules.

Therefore the heat generated in one minute = 40 Joules.
