We need to calculate b here and that is the answer.

weight of 1 biscuit in 1st packet = 400/b

for second packet

no. of biscuits = b+5

from this weight of 1 biscuit of 2nd packet

= 450/(b+5)

also given that they are 1g lighter than 1st..

so,

450/(b+5) +1 = 400/b

=>(455+b)/(b+5) = 400/b

cross multiplication

=>455b + b² = 400b + 2000

=≥ b²+15b -2000 =0

solving this quadratic equation we will get

=> b = 37.84

so approx. is 38.. bcz no. of bisuits cant be in decimal..

so no. of biscuits in 4oog packet is 38
