u = 0 m/s
v= ?
g = 9.8 m/s
s = 50 m
third equation of motion
2 g *s = v ^2 - u ^2
2*9.8*50 = v ^2 -0
98 = v ^2
v = 7 √2 m/s
( if g = 1/ then v = 10 m/s)

Given :

Mass of create , m = 40 kg .

Height from which it falls , h = 50 m .

Initial velocity , u = 0 m/s .

To Find :

The velocity of the crate just before it hits the ground .

Solution :

Let ,  velocity of the crate just before it hits the ground be v .

We know , velocity is given by :

v^2-u^2=2as\\\\v^2-0^2=2\times 10\times 50\\\\v=\sqrt{1000}\\\\v=10\sqrt{10}\\\\v=31.62\ m/s

Therefore , the velocity of the crate just before it hits the ground is 31.62 m/s .
