Solution:

It is given that the wire is bent into a circle.

So,

     Circumference of the circle = Length of the wire = 44cm

                                                                               ⇒ 2πr =  44cm  

                                                                          ⇒ 2 × 22/7 × r = 44cm

                                                                          ⇒ r = 44×7/44 cm

                                                                          ⇒ r = 7cm

And we know that diameter = 2 × radius

                                               = 2 × 7

                                               = 14 cm

Therefore, the diameter of the circle = 14cm.
