Answer :
- Area of the path is 1584m²
Given :
- A 4m wide path outside and around a rectangular park of length 125m and breadth 65m
To find :
- Area of path
Solution :
Given ,
- Length of rectangular park = 125m
- Breadth of rectangular park = 65m
- wide of path = 4m
As we know that,
- Area of path = length × breadth = 125 × 65 = 8125m²
Then ,
- Length of rectangular with wide of path = 125 + 4 + 4 = 133m
- Breadth of rectangular with wide of path = 65 + 4 + 4 = 73m
Area of the park including path
- 133 × 73 = 9709m²
Now we have to find the area of the path
- 8125m² - 9709m² = 1584 m²
Hence, Area of the path is 1584m²

Given :
- Width of Path = 4m
- Length of Park = 125m
- Breadth of Park = 65m
To Find :
- Area of Path
Solution :
✰ In this question, Length and Breadth of a rectangular park are given and width of the path is also given and we have to find the area of the path. Now, we will find the dimensions of the outer park by adding the width of the path in length and breadth of the inner park. After finding the area of the outer and inner park we will substract them to find the area of the path. Remember that Area of the Park will be given by Length × Breadth as the shape of the park is Rectangle.
⠀⠀
Dimensions of Outer Park :
⟼ Length of Outer Park :
- Inner park's length + 2(width of path)
- 125 + 4 + 4
- 125 + 8
- 133m
⟼ Breadth of Outer Park :
- Inner park's breadth + 2(width of path)
- 65 + 4 + 4
- 65 + 8
- 73m
___________________
⟼ Area of Inner Park :
- Area = Length × Breadth
- Area = 125 × 65
- Area = 8125m²
⠀⠀
⟼ Area of Outer Park :
- Area = Length × Breadth
- Area = 133 × 73
- Area = 9709m²
⠀
⟼ Area of Path :
- outer park's area - inner park's area
- 9709 - 8125
- 1584m²
⠀
Thus Area of Path is 1584m²
