V1=5

T1=25+273=298K

T2=0+273=273K

V2=?

Using Charles law

V1/T1=V2/T2

5/298=V2/273

V2=5/298 x 273

V2=4. 58 Litre

The new volume of the balloon is 4.58 Liters

Explanation:

Charles' Law: This law states that volume is directly proportional to the temperature of the gas at constant pressure and number of moles.

V\propto T     (At constant pressure and number of moles)

\frac{V_1}{T_1}=\frac{V_2}{T_2}

where,

V_1 = initial volume of gas  = 5.00 L

V_2 = final volume of gas  = ?

T_1 = initial temperature of gas  = 25^0C=25+273=298K

T_2 = final temperature of gas  = 0^0C=0+273=273K

Putting in the values, we get:

\frac{5.00}{298}=\frac{V_2}{273}

V_2=4.58L
