\star \framebox{ANSWER:}

Let's draw the figure (I used ms paint for the figure).

We know that :

AD=40m, CD=90m.

Area of ABCD is AD×CD

⇒(40×90)m².

⇒3600m².

To find the total length and breadth, look at the figure closely.

The total breadth is the combined length of the orange coloured lines and the Indigo coloured line. Thus,

The total breadth is the breadth of the smaller rectangle + width of the path + width of the path.

Breadth = 40 + 5 + 5 = 50m.

Similarly,

length = 90 + 5 + 5 = 100m.

Total area of bigger rectangle = HE×EF

⇒100×50

⇒5000.

Area of the lawn = Area of bigger rectangle - Area of smaller triangle

= (5000-3600)m²

= 1400m²

The textbook answer or the source answer is wrong!

\framebox{ AREA OF LAWN IN 1400m^2. }\framebox{AREA OF LAWN - 1400meters square }
