A 5 N force acts on a 2.5 kg mass at rest, making it accelerate in a straight line.
i) What is the acceleration of the mass?
ii) How long will it take to move the mass through 20m?
iii) Find its velocity after 3 seconds.

Force=5N, Mass=2.5Kg=2500g
F=ma, 5=2500*a
5/2500=a
0.002m/s² (1)Ans
s=ut+1/2a(t)²
20 = 0+1/2*0.002*t²
(20*2)/0.002=20000sec=t²
t=141.42sec (2)ans
v=u+at
v=0+0.002*3
v=0.006m/s (3)

i)Force = mass×acceleration
⇒a = F/m
=5/2.5 = 2 m/s²
ii) u=0, a= 2 m/s², s = 20 m
s = ut +(1/2)at²
⇒s =0 + (1/2)at²
⇒t² =2s/a = (2×20)/2 = 20
⇒t =√ 20 sec = 4√5 sec
iii)v = u+at
=0 +2×3 = 6 m/s
⇒a = F/m
=5/2.5 = 2 m/s²
ii) u=0, a= 2 m/s², s = 20 m
s = ut +(1/2)at²
⇒s =0 + (1/2)at²
