The no of electron liberates depends on the intensity of the light. Now the intensity of the light at 0.5 m away is
I0.5=54π×0.52
and the intensity at the 1 m away is
I1=54π×12
So the ratio is
I0.5:I1=54π×0.52:54π×12=4:1
So the number of photoelectrons liberated will be liberated will be reduced by a factor of 4.
