Molar Mass of solute (M) = 74 g

Volume of solution (V) = 500 cm³ = 500 ml = 0.5 L

  • Normality (N) = Gram equivalent / Volume

Gram equivalent (eq) = given mass /equivalent weight

equivalent weight = molar mass /Valency factor

equivalent weight = 74 / 2 = 37

  • eq = 2 / 37 = 0.054
  • N = eq / V
  • N = 0.054 / 0.5
  • N = 0.108 N
