Hello Mate!
Since we know that,
Potential energy = mgh Or
U = mgh
Where m = 50 kg, g = 10 m/s² and h =?
Now, 2gh = v² - u²
2gh = 0 - u²
h = - u²/2g
h = - ( 500 × 500 )/( 2 × - 10 )
h = 25000/2 or 12500 m.
So, U = mgh
= ( 50 )( 10 )( 12500 )
= 6250000 J
