Answer:

A 15m long ladder reaches a window 12m high from the ground on placing it against a wall.

To Find :

The distance between the ladder and wall on the ground.

Solution :

Let AB be the ladder and BC be the wall.

B is the position of the wall.

* the length of AB = 15 meter

and the length of BC = 12 meter

By Pythagoras Theorem:

In AABC, 2C = 90°

(AB)? = (BC)? + (AC)?

(15)2 = (12) (AC)2 +

AC2 = 152 - 122

AC? = 225 - 144

AC2 = 81

AC = V81

AC = 9 meter

1 meter = 3.2808 foot

9 meter = 29.527 = 29.53 foot

The distance of the ladder from the wall would be 29.53 foot or 9 meter.

Answer:

45m

Step-by-step explanation:

hy^2=b^2+p^2

53^2=28^2 + p^2

2809=784+p^2

2809-784= p^2

2025=p^2

45=p
