Answer:

The required answer is 54.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : A 5 cm cube is painted on all its sides. if is sliced into 1 cm cubes.

To find : How many 1 cm will have exactly one of its sides painted?

Solution :

A cube has six sides.

The side of the cube is 5 cm.

Area of the cube is A=s^2

A=5^2=25cm^2

Each side will have  25  one cubic centimeter cubes painted.

If is sliced into 1 cm cubes .

Then all the cubes on sides and corners will have painted sides more than one as they share with adjoining sides and only  have 3 cm side.

The area painted is A=3^2=9cm^2

Now, there are 6 sides

The 1 cm will have exactly one of its side painted is

9\times 6=54

Therefore, The required answer is 54.
