object distance from the mirror, u = -40cm
focal length of concave mirror , f = -50cm
use formula,
1/v + 1/u = 1/f
or, 1/v + 1/-40 = 1/-50
or, 1/v = 1/-50 + 1/40
or, 1/v = (-4 + 5)/200 = 1/200
v = 200cm
hence, position of image from the pole of mirror is 200cm .
we know, magnification = -v/u
height of image/height of object = -v/u
height of image/4cm = -200cm/-40cm
height of image/4cm = 5
height of image = 20cm
