A 5cm tall object is placed perpendicular to the principal axis of a convex lens of focal length 10 cm. The distance of the object from
the lens is 15 cm. Find the nature, position and size of the image. Also find its magnification.

f = 10
ho = 5 ... (obj. size)
object is between F and 2F , so image will be real , inverted and beyond 2F at opposite side of Object
using lens formula,
1/v - 1/u = 1/f
=> v = uf/(u+f) = -15 x 10 / ( -15 + 10 ) = 30
image dist from the lens = 30 cm
magnification = v/u = 30/-15 = -2
again, m = image size / object size = hi / ho
so, hi = -2 x 5 = -10
image size = 10 cm
-ve sign indicates inverted nature of image.
