a) 6(5x-2)=30
30x-12=30
30x=30+12
30x=42
x=42/30
x=7/5 or 1.4
b) 12-x/5=x
cross multiplying L.H.S
60-x/5=x
cross multiplying to R.H.S
60-x=5x
60=5x+x
60=6x
x=60/6
x=10
c) 5(6x+1)=3(-8+x)+2
30x+5= -24+3x+2
30x-3x= -24+2-5
27x= -27
x= -27/27
x= -1
d) 7(x-4)+13=6
7x-28+13=6
7x-15=6
7x=6+15
7x=21
x=21/7
x= 3
e) 8y-3-5y=24
3y-3=24
3y=24+3
3y=27
y=27/3
y=9
Hope you got it

ImArnav: u have got all your concept wrong, check my answer
ImArnav: ur 2nd one is still wrong, check my mine
Lucksmi: No how is that possible by taking L.C.M we get 5 as a whole denominator so 12×5=60 then 60-x/5=x then 60-x=5x, 60=5x+x, 60= 6x, x=10
Lucksmi: u got MR. IMARNAV?
ImArnav: just try to replace that value in the equation
ImArnav: See we both are correct as equations has more than one root
ImArnav: 10 and 2 both correct , replace and we get the answer
ImArnav: u got Ms. LUCKSHMI
Lucksmi: I tried once again and I got x=10
Lucksmi: ok Thanks

Okay Mate here's the answer

A) 6(5x -2) = 30
30x - 12= 30
30x = 30 + 12
30x = 42
x = 42/30
= 21/15
= 7 /5
B) 12 - x/5 = x
12 - x = 5x
12 = 6x
x = 12/6
x = 2

C) 5(6x + 1) = 3(-8 + x) + 2
30x + 5 = - 24 + 3x + 2
27x = - 27
x = - 27/ 27
x = -1

d) 7( x -4 ) + 13 = 6
7x - 28 +13 = 6
7x = 6 + 15
7x = 21
x = 3

E). 8y -3 -5y = 24
3y = 27
y = 27/3
y = 9

Hope it helps
