Given:

A 6kg object is subjected to forces

F_1= 20î+30ĵ N

F_2= 8î-50ĵ N

F_3= 2î+2ĵ N

To Find:

Acceleration of the object.

Solution:

In this problem, we know the mass of the object m=6kg.

From Newton's laws of motion, we also know the relation between force and acceleration of a body, F=ma.

So, if we find the total force F on the body, we can know its acceleration.

F= F_1+F_2+F_3

 = 20î+30ĵ+8î-50ĵ+2î+2ĵ

 = 30î-18ĵ N

Acceleration of the object,

   a= F/m

a= 5î-3ĵ m/s^2

Hence, the acceleration of the object is equal to 5î-3ĵ m/s^2.

Explanation:

Given:

mass = 6k

F1 = 20i+30j N

F2 = 8i-50j N

F3 = 2i+2j N

acceleration of the object (a) = F1 + F2 + F3/mass

a=20i + 30j + 8i - 50j + 2i + 2j/6

=30i - 18j/6

=5i - 3j meter/second square(m/s^2)
