Given : A 6 meter wide pathway has been  constructed along the periphery and  inside of a square field of length  50 meter.

To Find : The total expenditure to  cover this pathway with red sand at

the rate of Rs. 30 per square meter

Solution:

square field of length  50 meter.

Area = 50 x 50

=> area of field  = 2500 m²

6 meter wide pathway has been  constructed along the periphery and

inside of a square field

Hence Length of field excluding path = 50 - 2 x 6

= 38 m

Area of field excluding path = 38 x 38

= 1444  m²

Area of Path = 2500 - 1444

= 1,056  m²

Rate = Rs 30  per square meter

Cost = 30 x 1056

= 31,680 Rs

Cost  of Red sand = Rs 31680
