Explanation:

a) 6 ohm and 12 ohm resistor in parallel can combinedly be considered as a 4 ohm resistor.

And since there is a 2 ohm resistor in series total resistance would be 2+4 = 6 ohms = R eq

b) Total current passing through the circuit is

(24 V) / (6 ohms) = 4 A.

Since 4 A current passes through 2 ohm resistor, (c) p.d across 2 ohm resistor is 4×2=8V.

p.d across 6 ohm resistor is 24-8=16 V.

hence current passing through it is

16 V / 6 ohm = 8/3 A.
