1/3 + 1/6 = 1/2    => 2 ohms on the second gap

   hence  the balance point of the bridge is at 6 / (6+2) = 6/8 = 3/4

   the balance point will be at  75 cm mark of the meter.

Answer:

A 6 ohm resistance is connected in the left gap of a meter bridge. in the second gap 3 ohm and 6 ohm are joined in parallel. the balance point of the bridge is at 25 cm.

Explanation:

This is a meter bridge, so:

l_{1} + l_{2}= 1 m

Now balancing the meter bridge;

\frac{l1}{l2} = \frac{6}{\frac{6*3}{6+3} }

\frac{l1}{l2}= \frac{6}{2}

\frac{l1}{1- l1}= 3

l_{1}= 0.25 m

Thus, the balance point is at 25 cm.
