A 60 kg body is pushed horizontally with just enough force to start it moving across a floor and the same force continues
to act afterwards. The coefficient of static friction and sliding friction are 0.5 and 0.4 respectively. The acceleration
of the body is (g = 10m/s)
(1) 6 mis
(2) 4.9 m/s
(3) 3.92 m/s
(4) 1 m/s

Answer:

1m/s

Explanation:

When the body is at rest, the maximum force required to move the body will be equal to the limiting friction which is 0.5× 60×10 . While the body is in motion , then also the force will be 300 N since it is equal to limiting friction. Then further equation would be

F - (0.4×60×10) = Ma

300-240= 60× a

a = 60/60=1 m/s ×s (Ans.)
