A 6000 kg rocket is set for vertical firing. If the
exhaust speed is 1000 ms 1, the amount of gas
that must be ejected per second to supply the
thrust needed to overcome the weight of the rocket
is (g = 10 ms-1)
(1) 30 kg
(2) 60 kg
(3) 75 kg
(4) 90 kg

See u need to know that there are two formula for forces(thrust) that we gonna use here--

FIRST is of course the weight of rocket I. e Mg

This force is weight to overcome the weight of rocket..

So F=Mg(1)

Now let us assume that the rate of ejection of gas that we have to find here is dm/dt

Niw the force applied by the gas will be this---

--F=v(dm/dt)

Now u should know that in this problem these two forces are equal..Because weight of gas is equal to weight of rocket

So Mg=v(dm/dt)

therefore--6000×10=1000(dm/dt)

so now we get dm/dt=60kg

So answer is 2

Hope it helps
