A 6cm tall object is placed perpendicular to the principal axis of a convex lense of focal length 15cm the distance of object from the lense is 10cm. Find the position, size and nature of the image formed.

Hi

I think there is something mistake in the question. The image distance is found to be negative which should be positive. See the image I have solved it roughly, and comment if there is any problem in the solution and please again see the question and check if it is wrong. I can solve it again.

f=15cm

u=-10cm

using lens formula

1/v-1/u=1/f

1/v=1/f+1/u

1/v=1/15+1/-10

1/v=-1/30

v=30

magnification

v/u

-30/-10

=3

image is virtual erect and magnified
