Answer:

Explanation:

Solution,

Here, we have

Mass of ball, m = 6 kg

Initial velocity of ball, u = 30 m/s

Final velocity of ball, v = 20 m/s

To Find,

Impulse, I = ??

We know that

I = m × (v - u)

Putting all the values, we get

⇒ I = 6 × (20 - 30)

⇒ I = 6 × (- 10)

⇒ I = 60 N/s

Hence, The  impulse is 60 N/s.

Question

⋄ A 6kg ball strikes a vertical wall with a velocity

30m/s and rebounds with velocity of 20m/s. The

impulse is

(1) 60Ns

(2) 300Ns

(3) 48Ns

(4) 360Ns

✰ Given:-

⋄ Mass of ball =6kg

⋄ initial velocity (u) = 30m/s

⋄ Final velocity (v) =20m/s

_______________________________

To Find:-

⋄ Impulse of ball??

_______________________________

Solution :-

By using Impulse Formula

Impulse (I) = Force(f) ×Time (t)

➧ I = f × t ..............(i)

And, we know that,

➧ Force = mass × acceleration

➧ F = m× a

➧ f = m (v-u/t)×t............(ii)

Putting value of equation (ii) we get

➧ I = m× ( v-u/t) ×t

➧ I = 6 × (30-20)

➧ I = 6×10

➧ I = 60N/s

∴ The impulse of ball is 60N/s.

Hence option (a) is the correct answer.
