1 ATP=12 kcal; 1 Glucose will yield 2 ATP  

Explanation:

To calculate: ATP molecules to produce 2800 kcal of energy=2800/12=233 ATP molecules

After calculating the number of ATP molecules we must calculate the glucose molecules  

1 Glucose will yield 2 ATP then 233*2=466 molecules of glucose

Thus the number of ATP molecules required and the number of molecules required  is calculated and obtained by using the formula

Hydrolysis of ATP molecules will produce the energy required for the necessary actions required for the cell process to occur
