A 75m long train begins uniform velocity acceleration from rest . the front of the train has a speed of 23m/s when it passes a worker who is standing 180m from the front of train is started . what will be the speed of the last compartment as it passes the worker

The last compartment would also have a speed of 23m/s as the train has uniform velocity.

Hey mate,

● Answer-

v = 27.4 m/s

● Explaination-

Initially train was at rest.

u = 0

When front of train passes the worker,

v = 23 m/s, s = 180 m,

v^2 = u^2 + 2as

23^2 = 0 + 2×a×180

a = 1.47 m/s^2

When back of train passes the worker,

a = 1.47 m/s^2, s = 180+75 = 255 m,

v^2 = u^2 + 2as

v^2 = 0 + 2×1.47×255

v^2 = 750

v = 27.4 m/s

Therefore, speed of the last compartment as it passes the worker is 27.4 m/s.

Hope it helps...
