Greetings...!

Case I , total capacity of tank = 80 litres

Percentage of milk sold = 40 % = 40 % of 80 litres =

40/100*80 = 32 litres .

So, milk left in tank = total-milk sold = 80-32 = 48 litres

Case II , capacity of tank = 50 litres

milk filled = 48 litres

So, equation : what percent of 50 litres is 48 litres ?

⇒48/50*100 = 96%

Answer : Hence, 96% of 50 litre tank was filled with the milk .
