A 8000kg engine pulls a train of 5 wagons each of 2000kg along a horizontal track.if the ingine exerts a force of 40000 N and the track offers a friction force of 5000 N then calculate

(I)net accelerating force is

40000N-5000N

=35000N

(ii) acceleration=force/mass

35000/2000*5 (as there are 5 wagons)

=35000/10000

3.5 m/sec square

(iii) force of wagon 1 on wagon 2 = mass of 4 wagons *acceleration of train

2000*4*3.5

28000N.
