Let the 10kg mass be put at 'y' on y axis

Ycm = (m1y1 + m2y2) / (m1 + m2)

4.5 = (10*y + 8*3) / (10+8)

4.5*18 = 10y + 24

81 - 24 = 10y

57/10 = y

y = 5.7

Therefore 10kg mass should be put at 5.7 so that Ycm = 4.5
