a. M1 =25 kg

U1 = 10 m/s

M2 = 5kg

U2 = 0 m/s

V1 = 10m/s

By the conservation of linear momentum,

M1 × U1 + M2 × U2 = M1 ×V1 + M2× V2

25×10 + 0 = 25 ×10 + 5 ×V2

250 =250 + 5× V2

0 = 5 ×V2

V2 = 0 m/s
