Given:

A conductor of 10 resistance carries a current of 4 A for 7 s.

To find:

Heat generated ?

Calculation:

Let heat generated be H :

 \therefore \: H = {i}^{2} \times r \times t

 \implies \: H = {4}^{2} \times 10 \times 7

 \implies \: H = 16\times 10 \times 7

 \implies \: H = 1120 \: joule

So, total heat produced is 1120 Joules.

  • One advantage of using MCB over Fuse is that once MCB disconnects the circuit, it's reversible and easy to reconnect.

  • However in case of fuse, the whole fuse wire needs to be changed, only then the circuit can be reconnected.
