Angular velocity is defined as the rate of change of angular position of a body, or simply radians covered per second.

velocity of the wheel = 2200 rotation per minute

= 2200/60

= 220/6 rotation per second.

In one rotation the wheel covers 2π radians,

Hence  angular velocity ,

= 220 *2π/6

=230.26 rad/sec

Hence the angular velocity is 230.26 rad/sec

Given:

Diameter = 0.65 m

Velocity = 2200 rpm

To find:

The angular velocity.

Solution:

To find the number of rotations per second,

2200/60

220/6

36.66 rps.

By formula,

One rotation = 2π rad

Angular velocity = Number of rotations per second * 2π

Substituting,

We get,

36.66 * 2π

Angular velocity = 230.2 rad / s
