Answers
Given:-
- Total no of persons attended = 60 .
- Ratio of men and women = 3:2.
To find:-
- How many more men must join the party such that the ratio becomes 7:3.
Solution:-
Given ratio of men & women is 3 : 2.
Hence,
Let no of men = 3x
No of women = 2x.
Acc to question :-
=> 3x + 2x = 60
=> 5x = 60
=> x = 12 .
Therefore,
No of men = 3x = 3(12)= 36
No of women = 2x = 2(12) = 24
We need to find how many more men must join the party such that the ratio becomes 7:3.
Let total no of men after joined be 'p'.
Acc to question :-
=> p / 24 = 7 / 3
=> p = 7/3 (24 )
=> p = 56.
Therefore no of men after joining the party are 56.
No of men added = Total no of men after joining the party - No of men in the begining.
=> No of men added = 56 - 36 = 20 .
Hence , 20 men were added such that the ratio becomes 7:3.
---------------------------
Crosscheck:-
Ratio of Men : women
=> 36 + 20 : 24
=> 56 : 24
=> 7 :3 .✔
