Working out:

In the above question, we are given details about a person's journey by Mail and the total distance, time taken etc. are given.

GiveN:

  • Dis. between Calcutta and Siliguri = 600 km
  • Time taken = 12 hours
  • Time taken from Calcutta to Brudawan = 2 hrs

We have to find the distance between Calcutta and Brudawan.

So, let's start solving....

Here,

⇛ In 12 hours = 600 km travelled

⇛ Then in 1 hour = 600 km / 12 travelled

⇛ Then in 1 hour = 50 km travelled

Assuming that both the Darjeeling mails are travelling at the same speed as it was travelling from Siliguri to Calcutta.

⇛ In 1 hour = 50 km travelled

We know, Time taken from Calcutta to Brudawan is 2 hrs.

⇛ In 2 hours = 50 km × 2

⇛ In 2 hours = 100 km

So, of course the distance between them:

 \huge{ \boxed{ \purple{ \sf{100 \: km}}}}

And we are done !!
