आधुनिक मशीनों, जो कि भाप और बिजली से चलती हैं, के
आने से पहले मनुष्य अपने छोटे छोटे औजारों से काम किया
करता था। छोटे छोटे औजारों ने बड़ी मशीनों से हार मान ली,
जैसे कि खाली हाथों ने औजारों वाले हाथों से हार मान ली
थी। यह सच है कि इन मशीनों को केवल बडे-बड़े क्षेत्रों में
ही काम में लाया जा सकता है तथा उनकी प्राप्ति और प्रयोग
के लिए काफी मात्रा में धन की आवश्यकता पड़ती है।
परन्तु यदि इसी कारण हम सब आशा त्याग दें तथा यह कहें
कि हमारे किसान लोग उनका खर्च सहन नहीं कर सकते हैं
