Answer:

b = 30 cm

Step-by-step explanation:

perimeter of square = 4s = 4 × 20 = 80 cm

perimeter of rectangle = perimeter of square = 80cm

2( l + b )= 80

l + b = 40

b = 40 - 10

b = 30 cm

Given :

A wire is in the shape of a square of side 20cm. The wire is rebent into a

rectangle of length 10cm.

To find :

Find its breadth.

Solution :

Side of square = 20 cm

∴ Perimeter of square = 4 × 20

Perimeter of square = 80 cm.

As wire is rebent into a rectangle.

∴ Perimeter of square = Perimeter of rectangle

So atq,

⇒ 80 = 2(10 + Breadth)

⇒ 80/2 = Breadth + 10

⇒ 40 = Breadth + 10

⇒ Breadth = 40 - 10

Breadth = 30 cm.

Breadth of rectangle = 30 cm.
