a alone can complete a piece of work of rupees.300 in 6 days;but by engaging an assistant , the work is completed in 4 days . find the share to be received by the assistant.

Solution:

Given that,

A alone can complete a piece of work of Rs 300 in 6 days

Let work done by A is in 6 days

But engaging an assistant (B) work done is in A + B= 4 days

Which means B can do work alone in 6 - 4 = 2 days

A gets Rs 300 for 6 days

In 1 days : \frac{300}{6} = 50

For, 2 days, the assistant can get : 50 x 2 = 100

Thus the share to be received by the assistant is Rs 100
