Answer:

1/18+1/x=1/12

1/x=1/12-1/18

1/x=18-12/18*12

1/x=6/216

1/x=1/36

Therefore x=36

Answer:

the total work will take 21 days.

Step-by-step explanation:

A can finish a work in 12 days and B can finish that work in 18 days. Now, A left the work 3 days earlier and now B was all left alone. So, he could have finished the work in 18 days but as A left 3 days earlier. So, B had to finish the work all alone and therefore, he took more 3 days to complete and the total work took(18+3) days, so it took him 21 days to complete that work.
