Answer:  A and C together will do it in 4\dfrac{2}{7} days.

Step-by-step explanation:

Since we have given that

Number of days A and B can make paintings = 6 days

Number of days B and C can make paintings = 10 days

Number of days A, B, C can make paintings = 4 days.

First we take the L.C.M. of 6, 10, 4 = 60

So, Number of total units = 60 units

Efficiency of A + B = \dfrac{60}{6}=10

Efficiency of B + C = \dfrac{60}{10}=6

Efficiency of A+B+C = \dfrac{60}{4}=15

So,

A+B+C=15\\\\10+C=15\\\\C=15-10\\\\C=5

and

A+B+C=15\\\\A+6=15\\\\A=15-6\\\\A=9

so, Efficiency of A +C = 5+9= 14

So, Number of  days A+C will make paintings would be

\dfrac{60}{14}=\dfrac{30}{7}=4\dfrac{2}{7}\ days

Hence, A and C together will do it in 4\dfrac{2}{7} days.
