Answer:

The number of days in which they can finish the work if they work together is 5.12 days.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : A and B start working on a project. they work alternately with each of them working for 3 days. If A starts first it takes 10 days to complete the work If B Start first it takes 1/2 more day.

To find : The number of days in which they can finish the work if they work together?

Solution :

According to question,

A can finish work in 10 days

So, Work done by A in 1 day is A=\frac{1}{10}

B can finish work in 10.5 days

So, Work done by B in 1 day is B=\frac{1}{10.5}

When they work together,

A+B=\frac{1}{10}+\frac{1}{10.5}

A+B=\frac{10.5+10}{10\times 10.5}

A+B=\frac{20.5}{105}

They complete work in \frac{105}{20.5}=5.12 days.

Therefore, The number of days in which they can finish the work if they work together is 5.12 days.
