(a)An object can have zero average velocity but cannot have zero average

speed. Justify.

(b)A car moves with a speed of 30km/h for half an hour, 25 km/h for one

hour and 40km/h fir two hours. Calculate the average speed of the car.​

Answer:

a) body can have zero average velocity but not zero average speed because velocity is displacement / time and speed is distance / time. An object can have zero displacement but not zero distance . Therefore abody can have zero average velocity but not zero average speed.
