Let us assume the age of B as x.

Let us assume the age of A as y.

According to the question:

y = x + 5-----------Equation(1)

The age of D according to the question:

= 2x + 8---------Equation(2)

Its given that D age = 48 years

Putting the value of D age in Equation(2) we get:

2x + 8 = 48

Solving the linear equation in one variable:

2x + 8 = 48

2x = 48 - 8

2x = 40

x = 40/2

x = 20 years

Putting the value of x which we obtained in Equation (1) we get:

y = 20 + 5

y = 25 years

In the question it is told that the age of C is half the age of B calculating as we obtained the age of B:

= 20 / 2

= 10 years

Therefore, the age of A is 25 years, age of B is 20 years, age of C is 10 years.
