"70000"

Explanation:

1. Calculation of new ratio and sacrificing ratio

A's old share = 4/5; A surrendered in favour of C = 4/5 x 1/4 = 4/20

A's new share = 4/5- 4/20 = 12/20

B's old share = 1/5; B surrendered in favour of C = 1/5 x 1/3 = 1/15

B's new share = 1/5 - 1/15 = 2/15

C's share = 4/20 + 2/15 = 12+8/60 = 20/60

New ratio = 4/20 : 2/15 : 20/60 = 3 : 2 : 5.

Sacrificing ratio =

           A = 4/5 - 3/10 = 5/10

           B = 1/5 - 2/10 = 0

           C =  0 -   5/10 = -5/10

2. Calculation of A's share of goodwill:

           C's share of goodwill = 140000

           A = 140000 x 5/10 = 70000
