Correct question :

  • A and B are respectively the points on the sides PQ and PR of a trianglePQR such that PQ =12.5 cm, PA =5 cm, BR=6 cm and PB = 4 cm. AB ||QR give reason for your answer

Solution :

AQ= PQ - PA

= 12.5 - 5

= 7.5

PA/AQ = 5/7.5

= 50/75

= 2/3

and

PB/AQ = 4/6

= ⅔

PA/AQ = PB/BR

AB || QR (by converse of B. P. T.)
