A and B are two boxes as shown in the given figure. Which box requires the lesser amount of material w make and how much ? Box A-21cm edge&Box B-l=32cm,b=8cm,h=16cm​

The first box will need 854 cm² more material to construct.

Given data :

First box dimensions 21cmx21cmx21 cm

Second box dimensions 32cmx16cmx 8cm

Surface area of the first box = {6×(21)²}cm² = 2646 cm²

Surface area of the second box

= [2×[(32×16)+(16×8)+(32×8)}cm² = (2x(512+128+256)]cm² = (2x896)cm² = 1792 cm²

So,the first box needs more material. (Answer)

Amount of more material = (2646-1792)cm² = 854cm² (answer)
