Component B can be carbohydrates or proteins.

  • Macronutrients required by our body are carbohydrates, proteins and fats. These are required in large amount by the body for various functions relating to growth, development, metabolic processes etc.
  • Carbohydrates and proteins provide about 4 calories of energy per gram while fat gives 9 calories of energy per gram.
  • Other required nutrients are fibres which are good for gut health.
